Location: American International School of Lusaka (AISL), ZAMBIA
Reports To: Director of Inclusion
Position Overview
The American International School of Lusaka (AISL) is seeking a passionate and skilled educator to join our Support Services Team. The role of the Learning Support Teacher is to work with the Student Services team to meet the learning needs of our diverse learners. In order to achieve this objective, the teacher must work closely with the students’ families as well as teachers to develop plans of action and materials to support students within the curriculum. The primary aim is to reduce barriers to learning and promote the inclusion of all students within the least restrictive environment
Qualifications
- Possesses a Bachelor’s Degree (minimum) and current qualification/certification in teaching area(s). Master’s degree in the area of specialization preferred.
- Current teaching certification
- Experience with IB programmes (preference)
- Previous experience teaching children with learning differences.
- Ability to analyze and use data to inform learning interventions and targeted instruction.
- Deep commitment to collaboration (co-planning and co-teaching) and reflection.
- Organizational ability, initiative, and effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience using technology that enhances curriculum, communication, and school improvement efforts.
- Additional experience with literacy intervention, dyslexia, speech and language therapy, or occupational therapy is a plus.
