Position: Secondary MYP Physical & Health Education Teacher

Location: American International School of Lusaka (AISL), ZAMBIA

Reports To: Secondary Principal

Position Overview

The American International School of Lusaka (AISL) is seeking a passionate and skilled educator to join our Physical Education team. This position is ideal for an educator who is deeply committed to fostering a learning environment that is equitable, inclusive, and globally aware. The teacher will embrace and celebrate student diversity, ensuring that each learner feels valued, represented, and empowered within the classroom. They will use culturally responsive teaching methods and differentiated instruction to meet each student's unique needs and strengths, helping them to thrive. This person must also be passionate about contributing to our co-curricular sports offerings providing quality coaching for our young athletes.

Qualifications / Attributes

• Qualifications: Possesses a Bachelor’s Degree (minimum) and current qualification/certification in teaching area(s).
• Sport coaching training & experience: have a proven track record of coaching
• Aquatics experience: Training and/or work experience with aquatics
• IB Experience: Training or previous teaching experience within an IB framework (PYP, MYP).
• Commitment to Inclusivity: Proven track record of applying inclusive teaching practices and a commitment to fostering belonging in the classroom.
• Cultural Competency: Understanding of intercultural dynamics in an educational setting and ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
